Question about Gallows Brothers
I'm in the quest Gallows Brothers and am finding this quest very confusing. It seems streight forward until trying to complete the seemly but not really so obvious objective of watching Mathew and Fritz attempt their heist.

There's an area at the quarry I'm supposed to go in, and I've been just messing around the NW part of the map for several days waiting for the next stage of this quest to trigger, then at night on about the 4 or 5th day, it finally triggers the next part, and now I'm supposed to go and stand in an area and wait for Mathew and Fritz to try their heist, but this never happens, I wait there, and am not pulled out of waiting like I'd normally be when something important happens while waiting in an objective zone like this, the Watch the Heist objective simply auto-fails and the quest moves on to the next set of objectives.

I've tried looking for walkthroughs but none were any help in answering this question, they were either focused on the "Judas" achievement (which I don't care about), or were too terse to give any useful info (most just say exactly what the game says so are a complete waste of time, I can read that in the game thank you very much).

Is this bugged or is there something obscure I'm supposed to do that the game falls to mention? I've gone though this section several times and it seems absurd that that I'd be expected to wait for it to happen in real time and not be allowed to use the Wait feature, or is there some "special" place I'm supposed to "find" in the quest objective area?

""Most Moral Choice"
If players wish to fulfill the arguably most "moral" approach to this questline, meaning, not having to make the quarrymen be without pay, and not having to kill anyone, then all that one must do is this:

Speak to Matthew to learn about their plans of stealing the money, but don't accept it just yet, as just speaking with him this first time will spawn the money that you are suppose to steal for them.
Do not speak to Andrew so as to not start the quest Gallows Brothers.
Ride to Talmberg castle and fully climb the stairs until you reach the tower. There is "Very Hard" locked chest near the ladder.
Pick the lock of the chest and take the money, BUT, leave 3k Groschen of your own inside.
Go back to Matthew and accept the mission. By doing so you immediately succeed as the money is with you.
Share the money with both of them."

I'm already in the Gallows Brothers quest and am already aware of this option from a walkthrough. It's the Gallows Brothers quest itself that's being troublesome and all the walkthroughs keep straying into min-maxing some parts of the quest, which is not what I'm going for. I'm roleplaying a law abiding Henry who wants to do right by his friends but also takes his duty as Bailiff of Prevoslatitz seriously. That means doing Gallows Borhters properly, which was my first choice and how I want to play the game. The only problem is I'm having difficulties getting the critical part of the quest to trigger.

the only real solution is to jank that quest, so reload an earlier save.

I had that bug, too. I had to speak with Metthew about Andrew and told him that Andrew sold them out. Then the next part of the quest triggered.

Is there no way to trigger the robbery attempt?

Maybe you are not standing in the exact spot?

I remember this part of the quest being a little bit buggy, I know I had to reload at least one time to get them to be there, but that was some time ago, I'm afraid I can't tell you how I did it. Skipping time in a certain spot should've worked though, maybe you are out of the mission area?

If that doesn't work, try waiting like 4 days and wait the 5th day without skipping and just go there manually.

I was inside the mission area when I skipped time. It's a pretty big area and hard to miss. The quest to warn Mathew and Fritz of Andrew's betrayal is already over and done with, and the wait for the robbery to start segment's already started. Just seemed out of place for this game's mechanics for me to have to wait all night long in real time which would take a long time of doing basically nothing. I'm stills earching, now on YouTube, for any walkthroughs or Let's Plays that do the Watch Mathew and Fritz attempt the robbery option and all I'm finding is every outcome attempt but.

I had similar issues getting a cutscene to trigger in Honeyed Words, and eventually re-loaded to before I started that part of the quest with Sir Hans and did other things for a while, then came back later, and found the option to hide and trigger the cut scene magically appeared this time. The area to trigger it was VERY TINY and specific. Is that the case here? There's one specific spot in the quest area I need to be to get things to trigger? Is there a special spot I need to find where I'll get an interaction option to trigger a next step? Does it automatically happen at a specific time of day? This quest just seems really weird compared to the mechanics of all the other quests so far.
