Boom.
You’re fast.
Don't forget the perk.
when moving manualy you have to be more careful about your equipment, enough food, healing items, specific weapons and armor and so on...because you can expect a long and dangerous hike.
id say in hardcore mode you have to manage all this more thoroughly.
better dont bulk yourself up too much otherwise youll have a very long and slow journey.
you found lots of armor and weapons or other items but the next village is behind a mountain, or just very far away? well either take your chances (and your time because bulked up you will walk very slow) and carry all this with you OR just take some things you think are necessary.
and again, dont forget about your food and health rations.
dont forget that when its becoming night and you stroll around in the forest these ambushes or random encounters are hell! i often tried to avoid night travels and i was only playing on normal mode!
with fast travel youd just bulk up and beam to the next village,...easy...
so, yes...i think the removal of fast travel makes hardcore mode more hardcore
It does make the game harder though, keep in mind that you won't also have compass and cursor on the map, if you are not careful you could easily end up getting lost; add this on top on what CalicoJack explained and the experience really becomes hardcore indeed.
It isn't just about removing something convenient as there are more factors at play, it's the combination of all of them that makes hardcore, hardcore.
bulked up with treasures and as much gold as i could eat! ...just couldnt let go of it ^^
damn, did i curse in such moments...
really?
I believe YOU are making an assumption about what Hardcore implies here, and you are making a incorrect assumption. You assume it will be that the enemies deal more damage and take more hits. Kind of like Skyrim if it had a hardcore mode. You want a harder mode, but you don't actually want a harder mode as you complain when you get a problem to overcome. They are very clear what hardcore implies here. You want a more hardcore realistic medieval world when you play hardcore. This means no fast traveling as that wasn't a thing in the 1400's. Guess what. Traveling sucked back then. Cars and planes are wonderful inventions for a reason.
No it is the same. With the Scout Perks you can just skip all of those encounters anyway, and fast traveling still teleport you from location to location. And as someone that played a lot of hardcore where the Scout perks do not exist. I know there is many perk points you have to spare.
No. Disabling fast travel means you need to learn to navigate. It isn't as easy as you think when you are in the middle of the woods. Again. Hardcore is more about trying to create a more realistic medieval world, not a harder world. I find Hardcore much easier in some ways. Also why do you think having to plan ahead about where you are going isn't "harder". I do it all the time in real life. Do that in the game and take it as part of the challenge.
I think you have a misconception about what "Hardcore" means. Here it means that you don't get the normal tooltips games have because they are games.
Fast travel isn't a thing in real life, but it is a thing in games.
Having a UI that show stamina and health isn't a thing in real life, but is a thing in games.
Having a GPS that can pinpoint the exact location of a CD in someones bag isn't a thing in real life, but is a thing in games.
All of these are removed in Hardcore so its more akin to reality.
anyway, u dont need play hardcore mode if u dont have time for that
