Can't make padfoot potion

So I've tried this three times, I think I have it down, but cannot brew the potion. After religiously following the steps, I get empty air quotes (" ") and no sign of success or failure. Then I have an "unknown potion" in my inventory which I assume means I failed.

Is this a bug? Do I have to have better alchemy skills for padfoot? Any advice?

Are you using any mods? Sounds like maybe a mod is stepping on the data or perhaps you have a corrupted file somewhere. Try to verify your game files through steam. Can you brew other potions successfully?

Yes, no issue with other potions. No mods either. I'll try verifying.

I just 10 minutes ago posted this in the megathread....I tried a half dozen times and it is the only type of potion that fails. I do have 2 mods installed but I don't see them as interfering with that (Spearman's Delight and a reskin to make Sleipnur a Black Stallion)

Apparently you need to distill it. It is not included on the alchemy book, I found it on the wiki.
