Go for highborn most difficult speech checks in the game I have played. Nobles are hard to please especially the custodian in Sausau. Peasants are easily intimdated due strength is easy to lvl up except for Straw.

I chose Low-Born because of what I knew about Henry at the time.

This. Nobles are tricky basterds to smooth talk. Lowborns are a piece of cake to trick, intimidate or charm with my stolen nobleman's clothes and jewelry/armor and shiny weapons

For me it's a probability vs impact calculation.

Lowborn - Bonus with more people, who have less influence.
Highborn - Bonus with less people, who have more influence.

I went with high-born, because people who matter most are often those who matter most.

BTW traders are definitely low-born. High-borm IMO means only nobility.
