Masquerade quest is very silly.
When I return with the Cuman Helmets/Armours, Matt, Fritz and Andrew act like I don't know what Cuman looks like!!, how the hell do they think I got those outfits from!! I've just slaughtered a dosen Cumans, and now they send me out to some people who just might have seen something, and ask them what I already know all too well.

Well at least at the end of the quest you have a decent disguise that you can use for ... nothing. And the questline does not continue either. So... welcome to warhorse studio storytelling?

PS: pay attention to the final disguise. It contains none of the ♥♥♥♥ you were collecting...

this quest is a pile of crap. so much ridiculous stuff you need to do. kinda making me hate the game. should be able to just mutilate the drunk dude and continue. not run all over the place for nothing

Matt and Fritz should know what a Cuman looks like since they were attacked in the same way as Henry was in Skalitz.

Not necessarily--many civilians would've heeded the screams to "RUN!" and did not actually see the enemies attacking the city. They also may not remember clearly, because it was a sudden attack and hugely traumatic incident.

As for the quest... you either enjoy doing strange and sometimes seemingly pointless tasks, or you don't like this game much! LOL There's a lot of quests like that.

This quest is for the fun of it. If you do it early, that weightless helmet could come in handy until you get a tougher helmet. I also got a chuckle wearing the costume to the camp when I "scouted" it. By scouting, I mean going in and slaughtering each and every enemy in the camp--and I imagined the fright or shock the Cumans had when they saw sadistic Henry killing them or their gang members. What if they thought the Devil himself had come for them? :D

What was the point of the quest? To have fun--pretty light-hearted--and to experience more of Henry's friendship with them. It gives us more insight into the characters, helping you determine how you feel about the friends from Henry's life before Skalitz was razed. (And the collector's items are fun to have--if you collect certain things, anyhow. I collect anything given to me by NPCs, among a few other things.)

The people you're talking to in the game are idiots. Henry plays along for the sake of his friends. If the quest bugs you, don't continue it. Those guys are jerks anyway.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I thought that you will need this outfit for the burglary quest of the stone pit in Talmberg but it doesn't matter what outfit you have there.

And this of course.

Fritz and Matt use the outfits in the next mission about robbing the mine.

I thought this quest was funny. I liked Henry's sarcastic dialogue and hearing what crazy Olena had to say. Out of interest, does anyone know if the Cuman disguise works in the Nest of Vipers quest?

Stupid quest i agree but those two halfwit friends of yours are very usefull one trains stealth the other unarmed combat truly helpfull so dont get either killed before you get lv 15 in both skills and get their training

Would be nice to know that. I just used some common Cuman outfits so far...

Turns out you can! I walked right through the Cuman camp, with the disguise and helmet on. So long as you pass the speech checks. Guards must think you're that one soldier that just likes to accessorize?

well hopefully they update this to actually raid a caravan like it was leading on about

Turns out you /cannot/. I rode up to the bridge and the guard halted me. There IS no speech check. How the hell would you answer someone whose language you don't speak anyway? So I tried just riding through, but of course, that only works for the next 30 secs. After that, you have the entire camp at your heels. I even went at night just in case the NSCs had visual penalties like the player does. Didn't help me either.
You CAN, however, just ride /through/ the camp and "scout" it that way. If your horse and your riding are good enough, AND you rememer how to find the bridge, you can escape that way.

But the thing that really bummed me out about this quest was that the planned raid on the Skalitz scavengers was off. No mention of it even! I collected all these stupid items only with the intention of dressing up as a cuman and whopping some bandit butt. All for nothing.
