Miller quest "The good thief" is broken

Ps 4 Pro - I have the same problem. As I failed to pick his pocket in time, he went off in a huff and now, though he has the dialogue about "standing here and pretending I dont know you're there" he walks around the mill in his usual routine and there is no option to pickpocket. Because of this I can't turn in the ring I got from the executioner and so the whole miller questline is broken.
EDIT: Since the latest update my quest is now working. The dialogue option has been fixed and I can now continue the quest.

Not sure what that has to do with the ring. I did not even learn pickpocket and turned the ring in. You are supposed to take it to a different miller. Unless you're saying he won't talk to you about the ring at all and send you to the other miller.

Since stealth is so semi-bad I just waited for him to go to sleep then I took out my fists and beat the living ♥♥♥♥ out of him in his bed and looted his uncouncious body before he was able to recognize me. Then I took what I wanted and left.

It's not on him, it's in the chast in his bedroom though.

Yea, you`re right about that. There are a couple of more interesting quests involving this character. I sort of feel sorry for him.

reload the save and do it the right way

No stealth is not bad. You just need to have 0 noice and cloth with low con/vis. To get 0 noice and still ware cloth or even some light armor you need the perk to pad your armor. Then ofcourse you are no master at stealth before you hit skill lv 15. If you manage to get skill 20 in Stealth have 0 noice and get down your con/vis to under 25. You can stelth as efficently as you can in the Thief games or one of the more realistic stealth games.
