from my experience, when fighting with a houndskull helm, when you pull out your sword the visor comes down, when you put it away, it goes back up.

no key ive found tho

There's a mod on the nexus that removes the helmet overlay if you don't want it. I don't mind it though.

It would be nice if the visor was up during dialogues and stuff.

i dont mind it, was just wondering if you could do it manually, is there any way to raise your hood? ive seen bandits and such with their hoods raised but cant figure out how to do it.

There is a mod to remove that effect

yes agreed. I like the "battle mode" vision, but the lack of facial animations during dialogue is a deal breaker for me.

Is beyond me how still at this point, an auto toggle to lift the visor during dialogs is not implemented.

here's a mod ive used that adds raised versions of hoods if anyone is looking for that.

putting your sword or melee weapon away should raise the visor automatically

theres a dynamic hood and scarf mod that automatically has hoods up if not wearing a helmet or hat. And hood down if you are wearing a helmet or hat.

Even when your weapon is NOT out, in dialogues Henry will still have his visor down, isn't that correct?

yes nothing you can do about that. The only mods that deal with the viser are the ones that remove the viser effect on the screen when in battle.

If your wearing a helmet the viser is always down if its a full head helmet that is.

The game wasnt programed to have the viser be lowered and raised. Only the effect of it when entering and exiting battle.

Meaning your not actually lowering and raising your viser when you pull or put away your sword.

It just puts the viser effect on the screen when you take out your sword and removes it when you put your sword away.

Your actual viser on the helmet doesnt move.

Maybe someone could at least make a mod that unequips the helmet during dialogues.

i have seen mods that make helmet invisible. But not just during cutscenes.

For example the mod that turns the war horse armors looks into the look of radzigs armor. That mod also makes the helmet invisible. (among other parts) and not just during dialogs but the whole time your wearing the warhorse armor set. And it only works with the war horse armor.

So theres got to be a way. Maybe there is already a mod that does it. Or contact the mod author of the radzig armor mod and ask him to make a mod to make helmets invisible.

I wanted to know if also the AI has a partially obscured view when wearing helmets with visors. If so, then it's fine by me to handicap the player, but: if the AI keeps its unobscured field of view, then this is a complete failure, just trying s little too(ooooo) hard to make a game look realistic without being realistic. Then it needs to be removed. That's true for many aspects in many games where the AI has 360° FOVs and BS like that, while the players haven't, can't have. Either all or no one. That should be the stern rule. But I'm sure nobody knows anything about it, no gaming journalist ever asked the devs stuff like that: how fair/unfair is the game? How's the AI cheating while the players are handicapped? How's it all implemented and considered, to block the AI's vision as well when she's running around in full-face-helmets?
