What is "drop into pot" used for?
I've tried using it with apples, but it never seems to work.. Can you put poison in a pot to poison an entire village or something?

Pretty sure the point is for poison, yes.

For adding potions. Poison, lullaby, witches brew, etc.

when you drop something into a cooking pot... it'll automatically cook it and throw it back in your inventory... for example, with carrots... if you cook a carrot, it'll turn it into a boiled carrot.

Oh.. So does it just not work with apples, because I'm sure I've tried it and nothing happened.

So what happens if I dropped poison into a pot in one of the cities, would half the city be dead by morning??

any cookable item you can drop in the pot to cook, meats , veggies, fruits,

being you can get perks to prolong how long food lasts when you cook it it becomes handier to cook your own food.

That guy is wrong. There are 2 parts to the 'cooking pot' area.

One part if you target the pot directly, allows you to drop potions into the pot.
The other part if you target slightly off to the side, allows you to cook raw food in your inventory.
IM guessing its also a reference to Hunter Stew.... In the medieval era, Inns and other places would have big pots of stew, and they would constantly filled it with anything they could get their hands on ( in terms of food ).

The pot was never emptied, and people would simply just add whatever they got in it and so they could eat from it.

Hence why the stew pots everywhere and the "drop into pot" option.

Yeah if you target the fire you get "cook item" instead of drop into pot.

I believe the point of dropping apples in the pot is reputation, especially if you're eating from the pot too. But mostly poison.
