Im sorry, but thats not true. You can slice limbs. Try it on Pigs, and you will see how easy it is. ( but please, dont actually try it on a LIVE pig )
Most enemies are at least protected by mail, so no dismembering. Mail armor also protects from cut wounds so no blood, at least from slashing.
Sure dismembering should be possible in theory. If you had a really sharp sword and unprotected arm you MIGHT be able to dismember it but most likely it wouldnt.
And when in combat, are there any perfect chances for dismemberment to happen? Very rarely.
If your 1vs1 last long there's going to be blood. But have you noticed ALL the layers of armour? You think the blood just sprays all over to place? No. Most wounds would be internal.
It just went a little over the top, but yes you dont see the sword enter the guy getting killed when you do a mercy kill, you're forced to stare at Henry while he stabs the f**ker
You obviously are ignorant, come back when you've read some history. Unless armored, dismemberment by razor sharp steel was quite possible.
Possible, not common, people generally don't stand around getting chopped up and more importantly attackers don't do giant swings with their swords.
Most fighting would be relatively fast stabs and cuts. More then enough to seriously wound. Most wounds would be to the face, right neck/shoulder/arm. (As that's the part of your body you present to the enemy when you poke your head from your shield as you try and stab/cut the enemy. Another common is the left leg (the one you lean on when holding the shield)
This of course changes as armor changed. Face and neck still a good target but mail protected the right arm and shoulder.
