I killed Ulrich, now I cannot progress?

As said in the title I killed Ulrich when you were chasing him down, he never surrendered as he seems to do for most people. And now I cannot find the copper in sasau and I cannot find out where they get the quicksilver. I know where the copper is, but since the door is locked on very hard and all Zach tells me is that he doesn't know who the people are, he just leaves it in a cart somewhere.
When I fight for Zach and he tells me all of that the quest objective doesn't update and I cannot ask anyone else about it.

You probably don't but I've heard of some bugs if you kill him and theres literally no guide on the path I took for the quest, atleast not when I last played 2 days ago.

I met Ulrich by the tree and we fought and he surrendered. I let him live and he realized we were on the same side. So he sends me back to rattay to talk to the guy who meets you back in sassua. But when I talk to him henery says we fought and I killed him so I was not able to question him. But I didn't kill Ulrich and I did talk to him. Now he never shows back up at the Inn. I know were the workshop and the mine are both at. But would be a lot less difficult with Ulrichs help.
