Do villagers respawn?
I slaughtered an entire village in Talmberg including the Scribe at night. Will they respawn?

once i finish the game and do most interesting side qeusts, im gonna do a "Death Knight" campaign and just go around killing literally everyone

Actually, yes they do. Some players reported respawning npcs after spending 10 days in jail, so it's fair to assume 10 days is the respawn time for at least some types of villagers.

I don't know if this is the case for store owners, though, so you might want to make the test yourself

Yes, NPCs will respawn over time. However, if you kill an NPC who gives you a particular quest to do, then they will be dead permanently.
