REPAIR BEFORE SELL
Which is better? To sell stuff directly or does repairing them before earn you some extra profit? :2017stickyorange:

Stuff's worth more in a better condition. If you want full profit I'd suggest getting kits and just repairing stuff yourself (and leveling up your maintenance skill and thus getting better at it). Not sure if letting the person you'll sell the item to repair it first will be worth it, but I doubt it.

interesting... maybe drink some schnapps saving potion before selling a worn out stuff then reload again and repair the worn out stuff and sell it and compare the price :)

well you can repair weapons (except maces) at a grindstone. I believe if the durability is higher you get more for the sale. So i would say weapons would be a good one to fix up for free then sell. Don't think buying armor/tailor repair kits and fixing the approriate items then selling would be worth it.

yeah it's advisable to always go to the grindstone and sharpen up any weapons you can before selling them, increases the value

I currently have a Light Padded Armour at 0% after fighting Lord Capon (I'd JUST repaired that, little ass); it's value was 1.9 @ 0%, 21.2 for repairs (w/o haggling), sells for 9.6 @100% (w/o haggling)..

I would use the various repair kits if they weren't way out of my price range - even though I'm not sure if the price of the repaired items covers the price of the kits, or if just using them without training is comparable to paying for training, it seems worthwhile to have levelled the skill in case you need to use it a pinch..

I mean... I guess? I don't do anything like that. If i can repair stuff with my kits then I do that but 90% of the stuff you get off dead guys is too damaged for me to repair it. That being said, I don't repair ♥♥♥♥ (mostly) and still have tons of cash. So whats the point really?

Anyone with a final verdict? Without haggling, does the price of the kits offset the profit made on repairing items before selling them? Obviously, the grindstone before selling weapons definitely seems worth it (if you are going for max profit).

Being an apprenticed blacksmith... we really shouldn't even be having this discussion... go to a forge, fix it up yourself, sell... but that's not this game...

I repaired 4 items that would have had a repair cost of 220. It used up 66% of an armorer's kit (260c). So it used up 172. So it seems repairing is slightly better. But no idea if skill makes it even cheaper.

If you can repair with a kit first, do so. Even if you lose slightly from the cost of the kit, you still gain enough value from the experience gain to your maintain skill to be worth doing. At some point, you'll want that maintain skill as high as possible to keep your plate armor repaired and getting that skill up early helps greatly.

If you are level 20 in maintain it is not worth to repair armor before selling, only repair your fitted armor. I would say this is the final verdict about this coversation
