Divish's Huntsman
Well, I just got a promotion, it seems. I'm now Sir Divish's Huntsman - after completing a quest.

I was told I had a new bed in the lodge and some livery (clothing).

I go to the hunting lodge and, yes, there is a bed (60%) and there are trunks locked, so I need to lockpick them. Well, I can do the easy one, so I do and I find that ALL the items in there are not mine. I don't have the skill to open the HARD one.

I must STEAL the items from the trunk. Seems really strange. I've slept (saved), come back to the lodge the next day, it's always STEAL/STEAL/STEAL.

Problem is I'm trying to play very honourably, so I don't want to steal anything.

Has anyone got the same job from Divish and how did you get around having to steal your own stuff?

Even when you find treasure in the wilderness or are told by a noble that you can have the contents of a chest and you can hunt game with him, everything still says "steal". Just accept that the game's idea of property is wonky sometimes, and take what you feel belongs to you. If you're playing hoborably you'll never be searched by a guard for stolen property anyway.

I know that the stolen tag will disappear after some time, so I'll steal my own stuff for now.

And what to do about the hard lockpicking? I'm pretty sure there is some tricky bow and arrows and probably some clothing that helps hunting.

Guess I need to wait until I've improved my lockpicking skill to get my own stuff.

Stupid game :)

The 'stolen' mechanic in this game does really irk me. Loot some random guy in the middle of the wood, the whole world some how knows you stole it? makes no sense

If quest.completed == true

Hunting.Lodge.Owner = Player

Hunting.Lodge.Items.Owner = Player

Simple.

There fixed it for Warhorse. Know where's the source code for KCD?

Only works if the hunting lodge is its own instance lol

Not everything is marked stolen in the wilderness such as treasure maps.

The key to the really hard chest is actually in the vegetable rack right next to said chest. The chest is empty by the time I got to it, but I'm guessing the hunting horn would be in it at night or something if you were on the quest to steal it. I think you need 15+ to pick the lock, which I was able to do with a padfoot potion before noticing the key burried in the vegetables.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any livery or special bow. And the horn Nicholas had is actually the badge of office, so its annoying you don't get a renamed copy when you take office (I still have the quest item in my inventory, but it's Nicholas' Hunting Horn and doesn't have any use). I should be able to at least hold it up when wayfarers accuse me of poaching, not to mention arrest poachers instead of bumbling out "isn't poaching... well, forbidden?" when they try to sell you game on the road.

Hopefully, this is something they will update eventually.
