Fast travel encounter mechanics

I was wondering if anyone has info on the encounters you experience during fast travel. Do attacks vary and randomly generate or is it because there are camps nearby and once cleared the attacks stop? Thanks.

They are mostly randomly generated, although they often seem to be in the same spots. Like there are 2 or 3 different knights who want to fight you in a mutual duel and they always appear in the same 1 or 2 spots it seems. The random encounters when fast traveling are the same you get from travelling normally. So they are not specific to fast travelling.
