You might want to retry it to reproduce the problem. Could be that the game didn't autoequip the right arrows in your case.
Yeah, same here. Sometimes I can't fire the last 2 or the last 5. No idea why or what to do.
The contest ends with "shoot one last arrow". If you're not near him to hear him, you won't know it's your last arrow. I'm on my 3rd playthrough, the best I've done is down to 1 arrow that I couldn't shoot. (varies, I've had up to 4 I couldn't shoot because I dilly-dally).
Be quick about shooting, I recommend the Capon Bow, it's draw time is half of the better long bows, so it's not about damage, it's about getting a "full draw" with a bow in the shortest amount of time. I use the Capon Bow all the time with "better" arrow types, arrows with a power mod of 1 or 1.1.
