You needed to sabotage 3 items.
It seems you already blunted the sword. Did you put it back in the chest you got it from?
The tongs were on the cart.
And the rope is on the 2nd floor of the barn.

I don't know anything about horses being involved in this quest.

Yes I needed 3 items
Blunt the executioners sword (Done put back in chest already)
Poisen the tongs (Done)
Weaken the horses by poisoning them can't find the horses anywhere

Okay had to reload on the save and tell him death by hanging instead of horses
Panam Feb 19, 2018 @ 12:55am
There was no objective to weaken horses in my playthrough.
But I did have to switch the executioner's rope, which is on the 2nd story of the barn.

Ahhh, you got the punishments mixed up.

Thanks, I was having this same problem but nobody answered my question. I will load an earlier save and use hanging instead of quartering

No, there's five total BUT Henry will only three of the five based of choises with Executioner.

I too have to poison the horses and did NOT get the Swap Rope option.

The problem, as noted in at least 10 other threads only on the Steam Forums is that the horse do *not* exist nor any object we're supposed to poison for the [non-existant] horses.

Perhaps there are no horses to poison because no one is going to be executed by horses. As in, you got the method of execution wrong. Hermann is telling you to poison horses because he's just giving you suggestions based on your wrong asumptions, which will cause you to fail part of the quest.

The only correct execution methods are:

Peter: head chopped off (dull and replace sword)
George: hannged (swap rope)
Frost: tortured (poison tongs)

Anything else is a red herring.

Am I the only one who want another option than dulling t he blade without fking the old executioner?. I mean that is a grizzly end, and I kinda feel HORRIBLe for putting the guy through that

You're talking about the convicted murderer? Or the executioner? But yes... you can just leave everything as it is and still visit the show.

Wich is exactly what I said I didn't want? Clearly stated it would be nice with another way to help the executioner? Come on, I don't think that guy deserves that end and it wouldn't be that hard to help him in a different way? I don't kill or "help" people dying, if I don't have to, unlike alot of people I assume, but as these are convicted and sentenced to death, I'd make an exception, since they'll die no matter what, unless you set them free..

Sorry, my bad. But you don't need to do the sabotage part of the quest (as I did in my first run). The convicted guys will die anyway but the ending of the quest is different for sure. I don't want to spoiler too much :)

Well, I finished that quest and gave up trying to find the horses to poison. My quest log said I failed to weaken the horses ****because I was caught**** (lol ok?). I was never caught stealing the sword, dulling it, putting it back or poisoning the the torture device.

Also, the Rattay Executioner told me to come tomorrow before 2pm for the executions so just to make sure he didn't mean *today* (it was still 10am when he told me this) I went up to gallow hill and no one was there so I waited, real time, to make sure. Ok, I guess it really is tomorrow (talked to Hermman again but no Interactivety button to press) so I went and did a small side quest, went to the Mill to sleep and got up around 6am and went back to Hermann. No dialog,
checked the Hill and no one there. Again I waited real time. Around 1pm (not 2pm) Hermman allowed me to talk to him but he told me "everything is done and thanks for the help."

WTF! lol ...this quest has some serous issues.
