You can get all of you stuff back even before the first night. There is a lockpick behind the altar in the main hall, keep in mind though that you character needs to be able to pick verry hard locks and you only get one shot at it so make sure you know how to pick verry hard lock on your first try.

I find that putting some stuff on you horse makes so you dont need to leave anything in the chest where you but you stuff before the quest

I went to the Church being built next door climbed to the very top and waited for the target to walk in the court yard and killed him with a bow the only weapon I use in the game since I am crap with a sword or mace use little armor just do hit and and retreat method of fighting works for me have over 50 head shot kills

It takes a little to get used to. I ended up choking him into submission, then carried him out the door in the kitchen. So.. I'm sitting there thinking, "How am I getting this guy back to Rattay?" I finally said, "Screw it" and killed him while he was unconscious. I knew Radzig wouldn't say anything, even though he had originally said he did not want the dude to be killed.
