Nightingale bird bug

After I turn in all three nightingales birds, the dialouge stop, and there is a infinite looping animation of my character, what the hell do I do...

I cant even trigger placing the (middle) cage. Im in the location and when I drop the cage, nothing, been picking it up and dropping it over and over for like forever.

This quest has a lot of bugs.

I can drop the cages and it'll notify me, but at least 1 of the three, when I drop my cage, it just disappears. The icon shows up on the other side of the river, but the cage isn't there.

You're better off skipping this quest.

I have the same bug for this quest. After I get the reward from the huntsman, the dialogue does not reappear and the game is stuck showing my character without any possibility of ending the dialogue. I tried several times using a saved game and get the same bug.
Another bug happened after I saved and quit the game after collecting one cage and dropping another one but having still one empty cage in my inventory. It seems that after restarting the game, the quest is reinitialized as I hear the birds at the place where I collected the cage already but if I drop a new cage at the same place, it disappears and is not shown on the map.
I have lost so much time on this quest due to the bugs and also being killed by bandits on the site of the quests or on my way back to Rattay, this because of the limitations of the save system. To limit the number of saved files in a buggy game is not very thoughtful and not very nice for the players. I love the game but .....

Yeah, I completely agree; I did the exact same thing, the amount of variations I made to get it working. Actually the very first time that I handed it in it worked, but I accidently hit a guard then had to reload back to my save, it was after that the game got bugged for me. The save system and all of these bugs really don't go together, but oh well, it is what it is, might aswell enjoy the 90% other enjoyable things about the game.

Yeah, just dropped the third and after the bird was caught, the cage dissappeared.

Gah this is ridiculous, you spend half an hour wandering around trying to find the bloody things, then the quest bugs out. If this is what is meant by hardcore they can keep it. I'd rather go clean my bathroom or something else more productive.

Yeah..I gave up on the game for now.. I don't want to spend an hour roaming a forest only to bug out. I will play something else for now.

I confirm that bug. After handing in the 3 full bird cages, I can see I got 40 ordinary arrows and 55 groches as reward but I can't get out of the dialogue, I just stand there and can just Alt+F4.

I did the nightengale quest over the weekend and it worked fine for me. Just go to the 3 spots where you hear the nightengales, and then go into your inventory and drop each trap. Then wait until the next day. The traps will be covered once they have caught the nightengales. I turned in the quest as normal and had no problems with it.

Yes we know how it works. But the third cage is bugged for us it just disappears instead of being covered.

And for those that for some miracle don't have that bug, get slapped with another bug, so don't even try.

For me cages were floating at 1m height when they caught a bird. Maybe yours too flew in the sky?

Still got the bug with never-ending dialogue.

Odd, I did that quest today and it went off without a hitch. Got my arrows and $50 off the guy. Made WAY more $ from the near by bandit camp I happened upon though mind you....

You do not have to wait a day either as has been suggested. drop all 3 traps then go back to the 1st and it will have a bird in it already.

Bugged on me too, ive lost 2 cages! The inducator showing the cages placed at hunter's house, of course there is nothing in it
