Bears and wolves?
Are there bears or wolves in this game? I feel like there should be something other than bandits and deer roaming the forest as well as they would be able to add in some extra threat and quests to hunt down a bear killing cows at a farm for instance (you could wait until it returns, set and bait a trap to lure it to you, or investigate the area and follow it's tracks to it's lair) and it would be something else that would require and help raise your archery skills.

Unless of course these animals didn't exist in this area as I am no good at history.

Well I have never seen either BUT I did see a Wolf Tooth in a herbalist shop.

I'm pretty sure this area either didn't have bears and wolfs or had very few.

The nobles probably had them exterminated as competition / dangerous beasts. Most of Europe exterminated them.

On the contrary.

You can hear a wolf howling sometimes at night in KCD, but there are none in the game, same for bears.
I think the devs simply ran out of time/resources.

I think they would affect game ecosystem too much.
Npcs live their live by walking eating and working which is fine but wild dangerous animals could easily kill off small bandit groups, traveling merchants and a lot of random people just walking around.

A lone wolf would usually not attack a person, that's just one of the many myths that caused the almost-extermination of the wolf. A pack might be adifferent story, but humans are just not on their list of prey, rare exceptions aside. They go for deer, hares and similar game - not people.

I'm sure they could make it so they don't attack npc's unless it's for a mission and only attack Henry.

The guy you are responding to never mentioned solo wolves.

Lone wolf not, but attacked member of a pack will. Even thou poaching was illegal a lot of people do that in this game.
Wolfs will become agressive when attacked.

And then we have bears that can attack you if you smell not so nice :)

Depends.
They are smart, they usually only pick fights they know they'll win.

My point is, if wolves would be in the game, it wouldn't make a huge difference.
If depicted correctly, we'd almost never see them anyways, and if, it won't be long until they evade us after all.

The "Vicious wolf packs hunting for human flesh in the dark medieval Europe myth" is just that, a myth, please let that die already. There were encounters between man and wolf, yes, some were deadly for the humans involved, yes, but these were exceptions, not the norm.

I would say boars are way more aggresive IRL compared to this game. They don't just leg it even in the pack of 4.

Can’t wait for mods, if the devs don’t do it!

Definitely!
A boar, especially a wounded one that is pushed into a corner, is a killer.
every year (today!) people, well mostly hunters, die to boars because they are so stupid to follow them into corn fields or something.

Bears and wolves can attack cows and sheep, not usually npc, unless npc is unconcious or asleep in the woods. Skunks amd racooms would be cool. The forest is just so well made it needs some life. Foxes racoons skunks squirrels hawks.

Bears and wolves attack other animals first most likely. Theres pleny of sheep cows rabits and deer(prey)

Predators could be

Wolves, bears, mountain lion, poison snakes maybe in rivers who knows.

Raccoons in Europe during the 15th century? Okay then...
