How to get manfred away from karl?

it may be a glitch but when i play dice with him when the games over we just spawn back at the tavern and hes not gone

Yeah it bugged for me too, I had to play dice like four times. Eventually just entering dice and quitting made him to to sleep all drunk.

Might just be me but i did it 4 times then talked to karl after the 4th time in desperation and manfred got up and left when i selected one of karls chat lines dont remember which one

I never built up my skill in pickpocket ... so that is out.

I played over a dozen game with out any luck:
-The first set of games ... the game hung.
-The second set of games ... he never drank during the game! But, eventually he did go up to sleep ... but Karl went to sleep already!
-The current set of games ... well there were no games! He said yes lets play ... but we does not get up to play!

I finally went to their room and picked the lock on the trunk ... but nothing ... no writ was found!

I guess my next option is to knock him out or kill him and steal it?

Every time I talk to that guy, no reply options show up, cam is stuck on brawler and I cant exit the conversation. Esc does nothing. rip.

I stole Karl's writ. From his chest when he was sleeping. The jackass wakes up at eleven. Then I spoke to him, he told me to detain Manfred. I send Manfred out for a smoke. And Karl doesn't talk to me anymore. Probably because I stole the writ beforehand.

Doesn't break the mission but it feels incomplete.
