-92 Reputation with Rattay citizens
So.. I suck at lockpicking and I figured since the executioner lived alone in the woods far from town I could just murder him in his sleep. Well.. he woke up and I realised why Henry is so dead set on being a good boy, it seems like everyone in medieval times is telepathic because him witnessing me finishing him off seemed to have badly effected my reputation.

Is this a bug or working as intended? I was really enjoying a little realism but I don't think I want to carry on now that everyone hates me for something noone should have known about. Especially since I took good care to hide the body. (Not that CSI Rattay would have been able to figure out it was me anyway)

Noone saw me but the guy I murdered, I even made sure not to alert his dogs... I was expecting some leeway in how you can approach quests but it seems like the Devs only want me to do it one specific way?

similar thing happened to me, i knocked out the executiuner when he waws sleeping took the key and the ring. ran straight to the town and guards were like "haha got you, you criminal now pay a fine or go to prison and get game over"
There were no witnesses but somehow the guards knew that i did bodily harm to someone somewhere.

i havent done it myself as i found out after i fixed my rep by clearing bandit camps later in the game but someone on reddit told me that if you punch a guard, goto jail, when you come out that -92 will be at 20.

Sadly this is one of the things keeping me from buying the game.

With a game that is focused THIS MUCH on realism.. it needs to be actually.. ya know....REALISTIC!!

I told him that he had to go to the miller, I knocked him out on the road, stole his keys, and got his ring - everything went fine and I got no -rep. :P Still, in general, I usually get a notification that people will react badly to my evil actions and such, while I hadn't even done anything bad at that moment - why's that? Did I do anything bad without knowing it?

I can't imagine this is to be intendend. If there is truly no one around his building - then no one knows. I think this is a bug - the game is extremely complex. We have to wait for some bugfxes.

Uhm, actually, 1403 in Bohemia people DID have telepathic connection. That is also why even if you stealth kill / K.O. somebody in their sleep, 1-3 people will suddenly feel the massive urge to walk up the stairs, from across the town, even though it's not their home.

It was accompanied by their marvellous teleportation skills, that allowed Guards to have a very quick response time. It was second only to atlanteans. Sadly Behemia doesn't exist anymore or we all would be pretty much Charles Xavier by now.

Please stop doubting this game's realism.

Do the guards take any money off you for punching them and going to jail? (They don't know about the murder, only all of the citizens do somehow)

Knowing that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a miller, he probably told everyone you did it.

I checked my reputation before and after knocking a guard out in his bed.. also I may or may not have stabbed him to death... Reputation was unchanged.

I set off the dogs to wake him up and bring him outside.
Where I sneaked up on him and killed him then executed his 3 dogs.
And rifled through his stuff.

Its ok though, he just respawned in my game, good thing since I need him for a quest anyway.

Think how rep works is, you kill someone and the person that you are trying to kill "catches" you the rep decreases and you have a fine/jailtime. Soon as you actually kill the person or the last witness your fine/jailtime is gone but your rep stays as it is. hope that made sense

rep fix is really too easy.
punch a guard in the face
get send into jail for 7 days
rep is reset
just make sure you have no time sensetive quests.

Not really acceptable for a game that prides itself on realism though is it? If the guards dont see you then you will have no fine or jail time untill you assault them and you'll only be charged for a single punch. This is doubly annoying because the game doesn't make it obvious as to what has happened, why or how to fix it because... and this is just a hunch, the reputation system wasn't designed with this in mind.

I have a feeling this game had very little playtesting outside of playtesters doing exactly what the game intended for you to do. Especially given a lot of the other minor and major bugs in the game caused by doing things the game doesn't expect.

it's not supposed to work that way, i'm hoping they patch it in my lifetime, would be pretty fun going crazy around the place
