Whats the best longswords you guys have found?

I use the merchants sword to good effect, and i have a bailiffs mace for anti armor work

I found the St. George sword in a chest near Neuhof, it does 72 slash damage the most damage of all the longswords according to the wiki.

But I don't know if you can still get it, as I think it was a bug or something and shouldnt have been in that chest.

It was a chest full of weapons and plate armor, so when I found it I was really confused.

The best sword is Herod's sword has 45 stab damage and 75 slash.
Has an atrocious strenght requirement though

It's actually location of end game mission with a free-to-take suprise loot. I believe devs will somehow fix it's easy availability.

alternatively you could just steal it from Hans capon when he is in the bath mission, he will leave all of his stuff including the sword in the chest behind him :)

I haven't reached that mission yet.

But I can't use the sword anyway, as you need 12 strenght and I only have 6 strenght.

I'm using St. Michaels sword now, it's not the best but gets the job done. I have stronger stuff (St George, Herod's), but i like variation. Also found the Decorated Saber, but the agility req is out of my league.

I've been using the piercer almost the whole game. I got it from killing the executioner for the first Peshek mission. I'm up to 118 stab damage right now with 11(+1) strength.
