its impossible to win the archery contest for the wine you need for the quest. the ai-vendor cheats at the last shot. he always gets 5 or 6 points so that you cant win.

Who shoots all his arrows first gets an extra 3 points. But you don't have to win the competition, you can get the wine other way.

It is not, I won by 3 points, just level up a bit your archery and try many times....sometimes one of the archers start making points like crazy, just reload. If they do around 16 points or less you can win.

I still trying to figure out how you shoot a bow from the side Come on not asking fro crosshairs just be real you do not draw a bow from the side,need to be able to look down the arrow like in real life come DEVs get on the ball and fix this bug

I won the first time (though had to reload and lost second time).

It's possible, but not easy.

Yep, the aiming sucks, i find it useless for combat.

Add the aiming reticle with wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 in console (this key: ~ ), make sure you don't have your bow out or you have to put it away and pull it out again. It's so much better with the aiming reticle. I know it's suppose to be realistic, but as someone who has done archery, aiming is not realistic as he is not even looking past the arrow, and in a videogame you dont have good depth perception so with the current system its really hard.

I won the first try with 4 archery skill.

The trick to archery is to align the target in the viertical for the desired range, draw the bow, but don't try and compensate for the horizontal sway, instead, wait for the bow to sway back onto the target, and release.

I won it lad, first try. I f*cked up the 2 first shoots and only scored 1 point each. But afterwards the points just rolled in.
Two and threes rest of the way.
Personal practise and archery level up helps you go far bud.

well ok didnt know that you get three extra points when your the first. that explains it

I have a bug in this one I think.
When i go there, I can see there's a chest left of the table.
Then I do the contest, which I win, but the problem is the chest and the master archer are both gone. WTF?? where am I supposed to get my price??

Yep, the aiming sucks, i find it useless for combat.

I've wiped out entire bandit camps with my bow and arrows... just a matter of focus.

Had a problem with this too. It's recommended to use one of the weaker bows because you draw way quicker than with, say, a yew longbow. I tried it twice, but one of them always gets enough points to where I have to get a 3-point shot every time(or finish first which felt a lot harder with yew longbow) just to tie with them. After that, I just stole it instead and went about the rest of the game. Only realized the thing about weaker bows later on.

I lose on purpose, even though it's easy (with a hunting bow).

'cos training bow is easy to do, and the extra little bits of speech experience from convincing the winner to give you the wine is more valuable.

Why not just make your life easy and add small patch of toothpaste or something on your screen to indicate where the reticle used to be? Really its that simple
