Fastest horse?

Is the quest horse the fastest one (49 speed)?

You mean the one you get early in the game? Pebbles or whatever it's name was? No it's a pretty slow horse, or pretty bad horse overall. Btw. if you got the racehorse perk, then checking out other horses will not apply the perk to the other horse so the speed comparison isn't accurate. I have Sleipnir which is a tier 5 horse and I'm at 59 speed with it. Not sure what the fastest one is or if all tier 5 have the same stats.

All tier 5 are fast horses, IIRC Pegasus is the fastest one

This is the best horse, when combined with perks, and saddlebags.

Al-Buraq is a Tier 5 horse in Neuhof, costs 1.8k and does 39 speed at base.

Mine however does 71 speed!!
(which is far too fast)

To get this the 'racehorse' perk (up to 55 speed with 201.6 capacity) along with 'Military horseshoes' from the lady in Neuhof (71 Speed 201.6 capacity[/b]).

I also have the 'noble saddle (4 saddlebags)' (65 speed, 401.6 capacity)

Personally I think this is best combination in the game that I have found or researched.

That horse has low courge he just kick you off when more than 3 guys come to you. Prefer the increased speed/courage over 50cap, 3/4saddlebags easy enough.

dunno, I have 20 courage and you can boost that with perks. I have never been thrown off personally

i think its preference really. But yeh i mean mines about 30 courage.
They still kick off when you get bigger grps of enemies regularly.

I've not got to a situation yet where I have been fighting on horseback so maybe thats it. The closest I come is when running away (when I just run backwards so it spawns behind me).

So speed and carry capacity is the most important thing to me atm, and I dont need >200 of it most of the time so I ride with no saddle for the 71 speed

what you really need is the carrying capacity, why you would put points in anything else beats me
