maybe swords are the best, cuz of the lack of skills with other weapons, but bows seems pretty much op atm...

You dont have to worry to much, m8. You can level up every weapon simply by training with bernards using wooden weapon. And i suggest aside from sword, try to train secondary weapon such as axe or mace to deal with enemies with shields.

ive leveled a bit in everything. But i was curious but im going with sword and shield and bow.

Shield will afford you excellent protection and pairs really well with hunting swords and sabers, which strike quickly but defend poorly on their own. Shortswords can be used alone, but it's still better to pair them with a shield. Longswords you want to use two handed, they do immense damage to the average foe and defend well against all but polearms. I recommend picking between axe and mace regardless, and making it a secondary melee skill, as swords do very little to opponents in full plate. I personally perfer the mace, since it will pummel thine enmy into smitherines, though axe is MUCH faster. You definitely want to pair an axe or mace with a shield if it doesn't have a metal handle.

i mainly focuses on 2 handed longsword but when i dont want to kill an enemy i use other weapon like a mace or a bludgeon... the higher your level in a certain weapon the higher damage it becomes so its up to you what you want to use
Ive pretty much become op with the longsword because it takes 1 hit on low armored opponents and 2-3 on plated ones
