'Learning failed'
I just lost a perk point to this message 'learning failed' when I tried to use it for a new perk. Is this supposed to happen? Because that doesn't really add any realism you know...

I had this happen to me this morning with a maintenance perk Stuffing or something similar to that. The weird thing is that I got the pop up, it used up a perk point, but then the perk still appeared as gold.

I'm tracking a reddit page of a few people with the same issue. The problem is that we have no idea what part of this is bugged - either the entire pop up is a bug or the fact the perk still appears as learned is bugged. And we can't tell so far if the perk is actually working or not.

I don't even think mine is golden... Oh well, it was also a maintenance perk btw, I think it was the one where you get 0.5 char for every repaired piece of clothing. I'll check to be sure and edit.

So far it seems most common in maintenance because 2 other guys had the same thing happen with your exact perk. Which is maintenance as well as mine.

+1 i JUST got level 12 in maintenance and i got "learning failed" for blacksmith's son and well groomed.

i can confirm though that blacksmith's son STILL WORKS even after getting learning failed. the bad part is that it is LOWERING my damage lmao. i have 109 stabbing damage. i repair my own sword, blacksmith's son activates. and now i'm dealing 100 stabbing damage. which is close to a 10% drop. so blacksmith's son is bugged woohoo

Oh well, at least the issue got noticed. I trust someone already posted it on a technical issues/bugs forum somewhere the devs can see?

I did but I did a search and I was the only one. I have a feeling it's a new bug from a new mini patch since it's so rare and unheard of. I've only heard of around 5-6 people with it so far.

Yeah, what is the deal with this.. It shows gold, but.. Did I loose a perk point because of this?
Fokkas Feb 19, 2018 @ 5:48pm
I don't know 100%. Some are reporting it as not going gold, some people are having it go gold. Some who have had this problem and it has gone gold - have reported the perk still working despite the pop up.

Chiming in to say this just happened to me too with the Saville Row perk. It is gold and I have no idea if it's working.

The same happened to me with a perk (I think stuffing). Perk still works though.

So It looks like it has to do with badly modded game. 2 Mods are editing the same perk :)

Nah. It happens with you have zero mods that changing any skills or perks.

Well, technically that means nothing. Mods have been known to break things that have nothing to do with what the mod actually does.

Correction: 'It happens when you have zero mods'. Happened to me when I had no mods, so it's likely not mod-related.
