Game Breaking Bug: The Hunt Begins

I believe I found a game stopper here unfortunately. I'm on one of the earlier quests called The Hunt Begins. Henry investigates the slaughter of a town & its horses. His investigations leads him north of the town into the woods after talking to the village idiots. This is where my bug occured. I apparently was to find two bandits. One killing the other. What I found instead was one of sir Bernards men standing in the woods over a blood stain. No bandits, no bodies. No means of moving on. This is a main storyline quest so my progress is immediately halted. The quest updated and tells me to search the corpse of the bandit. However it's listing the corpse as located way the ♥♥♥♥ south of the entire map. When I go there, nothing. Henry just says he can't leave yet and he still has obligations. Has anybody else got this bug? Any way to fix it? Or am I forever boned?

Does anybody know a console command that would let me skip a step in the quest so I can continue my game?

Maybe a console command that could put the quest item i was supposed to find on the body would help. Does anybody else have this bug or did I win some kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up lottery?

if you followed the blood trail, you'll find two bandits - depending on how slow you are, one of them are dead. Theres a small, sorta open space where their hidding. Not that it matters, just go talk to Sir Bernard if you've tracked down all the leads.

I've spoken to Sir Bernard, he has nothing to say on the matter. Like I said it wants me to search the corpse of the bandit. The body is not there and the search marker is way far at the south edge of the map where it shouldn't be. When I go there I hit an invisible wall and Henry says he can't leave yet.

Welcome to kingdom come, you've got alot of hours of replaying the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over again because of bugs..

I loaded up a previous save. Cost me like 4 hours of progress. But it worked... bummer.. Think i'll put this one down for a week or two.

To be clear though, I restarted a save because I thought this was what happened to me, but the area I should have been searching was farther north than the shaded in area on the map where it said I should have been searching.
Again, follow the trail into the woods north of the shaded area.

Ok but did the quest marker that says 'search the bandit' show up on the very south end of the entire map for you? Probably not. Also I did a thorough sweep of that entire area. There was no body to search. I mentioned this all before. Oh well doesn't matter now

you can finish the quest without searching the dead body

when you go north and get close to the 2 guys, dont attack or anything only listen to them, they will talk about ginger then the quest updates and tells you to find ginger in Neuhof so just turn around and go talk to Jakub and you good

I was so stuck here - I think I had tried every possible scenario.

I approached the bandits without killing them, just to listen to them. The light-clothing one just says "jesus christ" and that's it.

I also tried killing the light-coloured clothing bandit. The darker clothing bandit just stands there, with a Mercy Kill prompt. I do the mercy kill but nothing happens. The killing animation plays out everytime, but he cannot be killed.

I had gone back to Bernard to tell him about the bandits and when him and his men arrive on scene, they killed the light clothing bandit. Dark clothing bandit is still standing around. I talk to Bernard to see if I can trigger something more, nothing.

I had also reloaded and requestioned all the survivors.

Finally I just decided what the hell, got nothing to lose, and used my fists to hit the standing bandit. He fell and died and I was able to loot him XDDDD

Oh my effin god, I tried to stab him, shoot an arrow run my horse onto him but not punching him, I read your comment and punched him and IT WORKED hahahahaha, you saved me some time !

I just went through the EXACT SAME THING AS BOTH OF YOU. i can only imagine how many people this post has saved. Thank you!

Thank you..... I was abt to uninstall the game since I couldn't progress from this point, but like u said punching the dude immediately kills him and I could loot him.
