So neither of those times. Charlemange was in the 1100 or 1200, and the Roman Empire Collapsed long before the time of 1403. So is this an alternate history, where the Roman Empires mysterious Collapse never happend?
The Holy Roman Empire was a completely seperate state from the Roman Empire that existed from 924 to 1806. Despite its name, it was not Holy, Roman, or an Empire.
Wait what? But non of the Roman Empire at all existed by 1403 right? Please explain.

;)
Edit: BTW, the game prouds itself being incredibly accurate (as for game) in timeline, architecture, clothing, behaviour etc. Te in game codex is incredibly interesting alone. I recommend it.
dude read at least the first page of wikipedia article or gtfo you lazy fool
I take it you are unfamiliar with the time period? The HRE was a pretty big deal back then, I'm surprised you haven't heard of it.
If you didn't want a history lesson, why'd you ask me to explain?
Oh. I just meant the time periods. Im not looking for details or what caused what historical events to happen.
I thought the HRE and The just: Roman Empire were the same thing.
Those are intrinsically linked. You can't understand one without understanding the other.
I know you saw it, you replied to it.
