no talk option for Rattay scribe

12 hours in with no decent saves to see if it can be fixed
i can't talk to the Rattay scribe to finish the mission: Mysterious Ways

The talk option is not there and all he does is run away from me...

This softlocks me and i can't continue the game at all unless i decide to start the game over because i have no idea what happend.

anyone else having this issue and maybe able to shed some light onto it or even a fix?

Found a way round this!

you need to first off be able to read the book yourself, so go find out/learn how to read.
then read the book yourself all the way to the end page.

Then make your way to Ledetchko (should be above Rattay on the map)
Then just talk to any random villiger and ask about reeky, should bypass everything for you.

ah, I'm in same boat but I've learnt to read and read the book but the quest won't update. Alos stuck with "get help from the scribe" but I'm guessing as I could read beforehand there is no option to have him read me the pertinent info.

Found a way round this!

then read the book yourself all the way to the end page.

Then make your way to Ledetchko (should be above Rattay on the map)

I'm having this same issue but i seem to be having it a lot first the Monks of the Monestary wont talk to me when trying to heal the injured from Skalitz and then the mission of trying to figure out where the faulty stone for the monistery came from and the Knacker wont talk to me about the skull. this is the third game i've had to restart and frankly im getting pissed.
