Ginger in a Pickle - Can't beat two bandits
They kick my ass. Even with perfect blocks and ripostes I can't hit them. They just perfect block my riposte. Sometimes we go back and forth a few times but I can't land a hit.

Is there another way to complete this quest?

Are you trying to fight them at their little camp in the woods? They go to sleep there sometimes. I lucked out and got to separate them so I got to fight one of them alone. Then later I got tipped off on their camp in the woods and found the other one sleeping there.

You can find their camp site without being spotted, go back and talk to the guy you followed to the town (the combat trainer) sorry dont remember his name, and tell him you found ginger and the bandits etc,, and he'll help you kill them.

You can also lie and say that you killed the two bandits. When you meet up with the Captain to update him, you can ask him for help with the two bandits and he will rek them.

Easiest way to do stuff like this is just sneak up and use the Knock Out function to knock one out then kill the other, return to the knocked out one and finish them off. If you cant do this , try an arrow to the head.
You can also assassinate people with the right perk and a dagger.

in the game failure is big part.

Sneak up, knock out one, the other will wake, and jsut go nuts on him ASAP, you have a nice window if they are both asleep when you knock out the first as the second stands up

you can wait till night, then they're out of armour. sneak behind one and you might be able to knock him out. kill the other one, then go back and kill him. if you can't, you still have the advantage of him being out of armour. since a few updates, their armour should be in the trunk where you can loot it (wasn't like that at first)

2 arrows or 3 arrows will kill one of them so u can kill the other in melee. thats how i did it. i killed the one with the sword first. got lucky with a headshot on him.

This could very well be your first time fighting more than one enemy, which can be a challenge. It is important you don't let them group you, always have one of them between you and the other guy, kinda like a line. Prevent a triangle being formed amongst yourselves at all costs, this will force only one enemy to fight you at a time. Hope this helps

You don't have to fight them.

Funny how the combat buff ruined the early games low enemies. That buff from last patches is good only for end game players but in low lvls enemies who always block and parry are no fun.

use the potion that boosts your speech skill, and sell em the story they want to hear.easy

It's always a good idea to level your character between parts of the main quest that are not time sensitive. Once you go patrol Rattay with the guard Nightingale, events that are time sensitive begin unfolding.

Try the great tips others suggested in this thread, but also consider that you might not be at a high enough level to do this quest with more skill and your own personal experience with the combat system. If you need to, go back to your save game before patrolling with Nightingale, and go level up more.

Good luck and have fun!
