How to use the combat arena.

Okay finally beat runt through sheer luck and some bad AI, he basically got stuck in a wal and I repeatedly stabbed him in the back, I'd still like to try and practise the combat since I'm pretty terrible at it. I have Dyspraxia and timing the perfect blocks and dodges is almost impossible on both the controller on the keyboard. Before you say "Git Gud" or anything else unhelpful I'm actually trying to do that! I've been to all the combat arenas there and tried talking to people around the arena but there seems to be no way to actually practise combat. Even a training dummy would be fantastic since you could pracise the moves. So does anyone know how to actually train and pracise in this game?

Bernard's Combat Arena in Rattay is an option, I trained there for like two hours. You can do real weapon combat, fake weapon combat, learn combos, parry counters, etc. And he's easy to try out combos on. It needs to be daytime for him to be there, though.

Weird thing is I've been there and haven't been able to use the arena :( Maybe I should try afternoon to see if he's there.

Yeah he's not there at the Arena, weird... None of the arenas seem to actually have people to fight with. Is there a point you need to reach in the game or something?

Yeah, to "unlock" the Rattay Combat Arena I think you have to visit Radzig for the first time, to get a proper "introduction". Then you'll be taken to the arena for some standard stuff, then to the shooting range. And from there you'll be able to train with Bernard whenever you want.

Ah I'm well past that point, just beat runt after all. This is the arena outside of town right, the one you are talking about? Sounds like my game might be bugged. Strange cause I've started the game twice now and never seen him at the arena after the first tutorial.

Yeah. Maybe he's off doing something else, then? Or it's a glitch, that's also possible. But as for the other arenas, yeah, all others I visited were empty, too. Bummer.

Weirdly he's just turned up. I had to go start the new quest line and now he's arrived. I also had to wait for him to arrive even though it was nearly 5pm :P

Also seems like Runt was the exception because I'm strangely managing to pull of ripostes and such in practise. Only thing I'm finding tricky is dodging. Still can't do it.
