Nest of Vipers Poison Pots

Can you poison the pots or is there a specific place you have to do it? I keep reading mixed reviews on this. I don't have Bane poison, but I found literally "Poison" laying around the camp. Every time I go to any Pot / Cauldron in the camp, I just get two options "Eat" or "Put out fire" ... what am I doing wrong? Does it have to be a Bane potion? I'm about to just say f it and not do this optional task because I've already had to stealth kill half the camp to even get into the damn place.

No - i used four different potions one time. I think in this quest it doesn´t matter which effect they have - but i don´t know for sure - i know for sure that it is enough to check the objective - to use any harmful potion. Dollmaker, bane, lullaby, no clou how they all are called. When i got this quest i bought 4 poison - standard issue - at the herb woman of my choice.

Usually the fire / cook options are if You hover over the fireplace - and the eat / put the poison into it options are if You hover over the cauldron. Eat press E - put into it - hold E - which can be a bit stressful if You Benny Hill through the camp with a bunch of bandits at Your back. You could / should be able to use the poison You found in the camp. It´s the pots - two in the cuman camp (one at the tents - and one close to the church a bit down next to the entrance) - two in the bandit camp (one at the entrance to the left - one a bit further at the tents) - The arrow stacks somehow glow red. If You look closely to the cauldrons You should see some kind of flickering smoke. ^^

Now i have no idea - can it be that the hold option is disabled if You have a weapon drawn? I mean it seems that You don´t have the cook option too - but actually i don´t know if You only have it if You have something cookable in Your inventory. Have You tried the good old save - quit the game and load the save option?

I loaded a save multiple times and just ran in there to even see if I could get the prompt. from what I could tell the only prompts I was getting was Eat from pot and Put out fire or Deal with Fire.. something like that. You're saying I should get some option to add poison? I've only EVER seen that prompt on little wine skins on benches.

No - it´s a general put into it. But everytime i used it - it opens Your inventory and shows harmful potions. Actually i don´t know how the option is called in english exactly - i´ll see - it´s "drop into pot". But You have anything to "drop into pot" in Your inventory - no? I mean You said You found poison in the camp.

Usually it should be directly under the "eat" - perhaps "eat out of pot" option. But it´s the same for any pot in the game - both options available - i´m not aware of any pot which don´t have both options.

If you don’t have an appropriate item in inventory, then you will not see the Drop Into Pot option

If your cursor is not over the pot, but is instead over the fire, then you will not see the Drop Into Pot option

So either one of the above is the issue, or you’ve got mods that are making a mess of things.
