Kingdom Come: Deliverance NO SOUND BUG. 26.09.2020
Hello, I have sound issues with the game, namely after my Windows 10 update which happened yesterday, Kingdom Come Deliverance starts without the CG, I have only black screen. And the game intro doesn't work until I press the Esc key, but even after that when I manage to enter the game, KCD has no sound at all, there's no sound in Menu, Dialogues and in the Game.
I checked the game local files, updated my sound drivers on Windows 10, deleted the last saves but still no result, please help me.

It doesn´t work in KCD - or it doesn´t work at all? Do You have sound in other games? Do You have sound at all if e.g. playing music?

I had a similar problem once - not in this game, but after some windows update. That update changed my sound settings. I had to check some checkbox or change something back and it worked again. But i don´t know which setting that was. Spatial sound - no idea - some setting which i never use was enabled - and i had to disable it - or was it some volume which was turned to zero? Hmm - i´m just guessing here - no help at all.

Deleting saves is not necessary - checking the game files is always a good idea in such a case. Updating drivers can´t harm.

KCD isn't the only game which has no sound after Windows 10 update, Darkest Dungeon also has sound troubles after the update, namely only its intro has sound, but after the intro the game is completely soundless, neither music nor game effects have sound. I checked options in main menu in both games and everything is default, sound effects, music and so on are turned on.

Speaking about non-Steam games, Minecraft is also has no sound at all after the Windows 10 update. But everything works fine when it comes to Youtube and the other softwares besides games. Well, In short, I have sound issues only with my games.

I tried a few methods to fix the issue, like checking my sound drivers for additional updates, but windows shows that there's no need to update my drivers. I also checked out a few Youtube guides like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvjynf0zMG8 but still no result. I checked the local files of DD and KCD once more but still no result. In KCD tried to change other languages in dialogues, switched from full screen to windowed version to put the sound back but it didn't help.

Has it changed the speaker setup or your default sound source/ports? Maybe the intro music was using 4/5 channels, but the in game audio is only stereo, and these channels are not mapped to any speakers?

Also try setting sound to a different config in game, then back again. Make sure you have the window in focus, sometimes games in a background window don't get sound hardware allocated - try windowed, borderless and full screen toggles to see if that helps, maybe there is some 'helper' app running with the game and sitting 'on top'. Some people had an issue with a large black circle on the menu screen, associated with iirc a sound overlay in the early days, might be worth trawling through discussion threads from 2018 to see if you can find those, might be something relevant if you get no success with these current suggestions.

What i did back in the day when i had problems with my sound - and no idea what to do: Uninstall the driver - uninstall the device in the device manager and restart.

When i first was on Win 10 - and had onboard audio i tried the Realtek driver - or the ASUS driver - unsure - but i had issues. So i switched to the generic windows driver and it worked - disabled hardware updates after it. I´m running a 2016 driver and never had issues - except for that one time after that update - after which i did something similar as in Your video.

That´s all i can say about it. For me it´s unlikely that it´s a game related problem, because it´s suspicious that You don´t have sound in games - except for one intro, but anywhere else. If You start an application there´s a volume control for it - that would be the easiest thing - but i don´t think it´s that.

Do You have different sound devices - like onboard sound + some headset with it´s own soundprocessor? Or onboard + soundcard?

I never used it - but there´s a built in troublemanager in windows settings. Perhaps it helps. At least it can´t make anything worse.

Well, I checked everything on my pc and I didn’t see any changes, I tried to run KCD via full screen, windowed and borderless but nothing has changed, however a few games works properly on my pc like Skyrim and Rainbow six siege.
But still KCD, Minecraft, Darkest Dungeon has no sound. I don’t think reinstalling these games will fix the problem I think I will just reinstall my drivers. That’s all I can do due to lack of knowledge about this kind of manual changings.
I don’t use any other devices besides my loudspeakers, I think the Windows update did something wrong to my drivers, and the best solution is to reinstall it.

What I did when it disapear, open Sound>then open playback devices ( Audio) click on speakers then ok it. worked everytime.

This action opens the Sound window, where you set your default audio devices.
Dont change anything just open properties then ok it and ok it again go back to game

I tried this method many times, unfortunately, it didn't help. Btw I reinstalled drivers but still have the same sound issues. Endless black screen + no sound in the game.

What I finally managed to do to get it to stop was to right click on the sound icon in the tray and open Sound Settings. Then did troubleshoot from there and it said some of my sound enhancements were disabled, would I like to turn them back on? I said yes, restarted and *POOF* no more black loading screen and sound in game.

I finally managed to fix this problem, I just rolled back to a previous version of Windows and voila, everything works as it should be! I did lots of methods to fix that but it didn’t help much. Downgrading to the previous of Windows fixed all my games.
However thank you all for helping me! Cheers!
