No Rest for the wicked quest bug

After the charlatan tells you to talk to him in the morning, the quest will fail at some random time in the future, anyone experiencing this?

I avoided this quest due to the fact it will lower the reputation too much. Not worth it.
And yes some quests will do that.

There are points in game when certain quests are disabled, just for plot reasons. I've never done this quest, so i don't know about it in particular, but quests becoming "no longer available" (and thus marked as "failed") is fairly well known.

I'm at the epilogue, shouldn't be a problem. Never encountered anything like that

I have had a ton of problems with the last part not failing for bs reasons what worked for me is finish the scaring part before midnight and do not reload a save while waiting the extra glitchy day because you can't turn it in the following morning you have to wait another day to talk to the charlatan if you do reload it resets the scaring objective and immediately fails it
so
finish scaring before midnight
wait an extra day for god knows why
don't reload a save having the wait for charlatan objective or it will fail the quest
this really sucked to get right in an otherwise enjoyable playthrough
