Go back to the mill to sleep?
Must be a glitch.
Hmm yeah that’s weird. I have heard of this torch issue causing problems in other areas as well, like after someone had sat down for dice the guard still harrassed them.
I think you got the wrong door, peasant.
I experienced the dice problem in Rattay, so I instead play dice in the evenings up by the inn past the Upper Gate. The guys there have more groschen for me anyways. Ledetchko and the inn past Rattay on the hill near the flowers are some of the richest spots to fleece some tasty coin in dice. Sasau has been a bust for me, sometimes they only have enough for one game.
Beware, dice in Ledetchko will get you nabbed by the catchpoles too. Dorks come around complaining about a torch but it's inaudible because the game focuses sound on ambience and the dice players. Next thing you know, you've broken the law.
First odd thing, down in the lower right it still said “Steal” and “Rob”. That was confusing. But I started taking things, no problems. Then before I was done, a guard came in and wanted to arrest me. I ended up intimidating him to get out of it, but that didn’t make any sense. Bernard gave me permission to be i there. This reminds of the situation where Hans told me to take stuff from his chest as we both stood in his room. I turned and opened the chest and a guard came in accusing me of stealing.
There’s something a little glitchy about the guard’s behavior not recognizing when there are exceptions to their normal behavior rules.
He also gets the hunters lodge as his own house completing the quest Hare Hunt..
There is ONE chest in the room that you can unlock and "Open" instead of "Rob" or "Steal" - that is what he is referring to when he says "take what you want" - from that one chest, not the entire room - lol
And BTW, that chest is always marked as "Open" - so, if you can sneak in early in game, and unlock it, you can get some free gear that is not marked as stolen.
With Hans though, I definitely remember him saying which exact things you have to take from the chest and why.
Then Henry got in there, having lost precious seconds to having done the fandango at the armory door with multiple guards coming out, and frantically started grabbing weapons. “Steal”?? By the HEAVANS!!! Henry has seen seen his horse pebbles on the ramparts of this very keep, now is NOT the time to get distracted by the minor foibles in the game, Henry you fool, HURRY!!!! Henry panicked (I was fine). His arms were full of polearms, two helmets stacked on his head, and then it was time and Bernard’s men were moving out already, oh NO!!
As it was, Henry went to Vranik with most of what he needed. Almost forgot pants, and DID forget the padded coif to go under the mail.
Then when Vranik was over, a very exhausted and still shaking Henry dragged himself back to Hanush with a clue in one hand and all his old gear in a big old sack dragging behind him He handed the clue over and looked around for a place to sit and get changed when suddenly everyone around him cried “ TO TALMBERG!!!”
Oh ♥♥♥♥!!! WAIT FOR ME!!!
And off Henry went to Talmberg, still wearing the hodepodge of armor he managed to get from the Rattay armory and still dragging behind him a sack of all his old gear. He was so heavily encumbered. he could neither sprint nor jump.
