Chosing between Kingdom vs Witcher 3
Yes, different games, but the money only gives room for one. For people that played both games, which did you had\have more fun?

Depends on what you want really. I love both games, but KCD is much more of a niche game.

Witcher 3 is more Polish, more polished and more accessible, but I preferred my time in KCD, at least after modding my game slightly to rework combat injury to more closely reflect how I think armour and weapons should work...

I haven't replayed W3 since I have had KCD to play instead, and will return to KCD again soon, with no intention to do so with W3 (though in it's day I did play it through 3 times (twice with the two DLCs). I might at some distant point of course, but no plans for the near and medium future.

Witcher 3. Hands down. I replayed it a few months back and it's far more accessible and less grindy than KCD (which I've been playing since it went on sale). That said, KCD is good and enjoyable (save the hit or miss combat), but not as much as W3.

Witcher 3 also has a far better and engaging story, especially if you've read the books and to a lesser extent the previous entries in the series.

Depends on what you are looking for: KCD takes you into a rather irrelevant role of a peasant where you get more of the feeling of observing real / realistic historical events, while W3 lets you play more of a hero in a fantasy setting where everything feels much more centered around /targeted towards you.

It comes down to your preference of realism vs fantasy and how important you need to feel in a game.
Something that is imho above all that: If you are from central europe KCDs landscape, vegetation and world in general are so realistic they create more immersion than I have ever experienced in any other game; which might of course be irrelevant if you don't know the original or are simply used to different vegetation...

In my case I haven't even started W3 since I bought KCD.

I would suggest Witcher 3.

I've got 300 hours in Witcher 3 and over 1000 hours in KCD, but the story and world of Witcher 3 is larger and more developed.

By comparison to most other games, KCD is tiny and underdeveloped - while the dialogue in KCD is excellent, it is a very different experience. Not everyone enjoys it.

If you played Witcher 2, then you know sort of what to expect in Witcher 3.

Run an IQ test. If it's below 90 pick w3, above 100 - definitely KCD.

what about the souls that lie between 90 and 100?

Witcher 3, definitely. Kingdom Come is a fantastic game, but it's ultimately an unfinished one. It's definitely worth picking up sometime later down the line though. It leaves me incredibly hopeful for the inevitable sequel, which will most likely be Warhorse's Witcher 3.

Enjoyed all the Witcher games and currently I'm playing W3 in parrallel to KCD.

Me (Mike) and my wife (Sammy) are so immersed by the grandiosity of "The Witcher 3" (and it's predecessors) that meanwhile we not only watched the Netflix-series but even read the complete Witcher-Saga by Andrzej Sapkowski.

I really love KCD and for now I sank around 400 hrs in the game. But anyway, when it comes to gaming experience I'd always recommend the greatness of W3 before KCD.
I like Witcher 3, racked 500 hours of play time but I still can't bring myself to call it a masterpiece. Nowhere near the best, not close to being my favourite. Played it one last time, and I like it a little less. I'd tell you to get Kingdom Come, not a lot of games like it these days.

Kingdom Come.
But as mentioned it is more niche (I like to walk around in the past) and I'm not a big fan of all the childish ghost and magic stuff in the witcher.
Kingdom come is more adult, while Witcher is fairly adolescent.

Witcher 3 hands down, especially the Blood and Wine expansion iIMHO
IMHO KCD is a pretty poor RPG experience with a lot of inconsistencies, bugs, poor sidequest flagging, forced McGuffin quests early on, sidequests that made no sense, and basically a complete lack of polish that makes the story feel rather clunky. After a few hours I felt I was playing a game rather than living a character.
I did enjoy playing KCD though, as fairplay Warhorse tried to provide a different experience, and has quite a lot going for it, but sadly didn't have the resources for.

Witcher 3 is action adventure, not an RPG.
