Breaking down linen clothes for emergency bandages?

Shouldn't this be a thing? I found myself in the wilderness, brittle bones and a heavy bleeder, stumbling down a hill and for some reason forgot bandages. I did however have a nice sturdy linen shirt, useless though.

there should be an item "scissors" to cut clothes up into band-aids

no, this isnt the long dark where you break down things for material, just remember to bring bandages with you, or have bandages in your horse inventory, they dont take up much space and they are easy to find and buy so i dont understand why u need this

Because I was an idiot and fell off a cliff, no bandits or chests nearby, I had recently deposited all of my items into my shared chest, then I forgot to take out the bandages. So at that moment, scrapping my shirt was the only option to save myself, except it wasn't an option. But I see what you're saying - how about this instead: allow wrapping the shirt in such a manner that it looses durability and also becomes very bloody and dirty, and this would only serve as a temporary bandage, so when you equip it normally, you will start bleeding again? I know I will most likely never find myself in the same situation again, but the game does pride itself on realism.
