How to damage your own armor?
Hi, I know the title is weird but I am looking for a quick and relatively "safe" way to damage my own armor (leg armor) like I can with my sword.
Why do I do this? I am playing with a rogue build where my Henry is a master assassin/thief and I am using all the items that minimize visibility/notoriety/noise and I have two very good perks that greatly reduce the noise of armor pieces. So instead of going with just light armor thanks to this build and its perks I can go decently armed and equipped, the problem? I have to repair each new piece of equipment that I get to apply the buff to make it less noise, the issue is that the piece I got is already 100%. I tried to go with Bernard and let him attack me with a mace but he hits me anywhere but in the legs (the piece of equipment I need to damage lightly to repair and apply the buff), so what do you suggest?

This - train with practice sword or axe and you will get minimal damage, but enuf for "repair" - practice mace will do more damage

then block any attack from above and he will then try and attack you from the bottom

Check out the map, go to the highest cliffs you can find, and jump.

Alternately, find the Kung Fu master, train to learn the drunken monkey style so you can block with your feet, and attack a bandit camp.

Training with wooden ones does more than enough damage for my liking when sparring with Bernard - so much so that i always undress to avoid stupid repair costs.

I'm glad you said it - i was about to

in truth, it's random - so, just go find some ambushes and stay in melee combat until your leg armor gets damaged.

maybe look for large bandit or cuman camps where you might find an archer - then jump into the arrow ? (this part has some sarcasm, but might work)

Apart from an unlikely stray arrow, I think the only way to get your leg armor damaged is to get hit while on horseback.

So leg armor is kinda useless?

I wouldnt say they are useless. Just computer ai isnt really programmed to aim for your legs all that much.

Just test it out yourself. Fight an enemy in the game. And aim for the legs. YOu cant really except with 2 specific type of sword/weapon attack.Upwards slashes(uppercuts) And even then you have to throw the uppercut at the correct distance otherwise you will just hit them in the upperbody.

And bows. ofcourse.

YOu can play the game and be alright not wearing any leg armor if you wish.

But you might wish you had some on when you do take an arrow to the leg.

Do you mean perhaps... an arrow to the knee?
