Unplayabale Hardcore Mode without compass!!!!
Dude, why the hell the developers do this thing?! It's stupid to navigate with a map without any clue where you are or where you going!!! This game mode is broken.

Do you guys know any mod that I can put of use on 1.9 that make compass or at least marker funcionality on the map?

I've finished normal mode with 120 hours +- and just want to expand the experience on hardcore but without a decent compass it's impossible. Tks anyway!

This I agree! I mean come on! I want it to be hard too by having negative perks, harder fights, and I was hoping for wolves to come out somewhere... but the compass.. who takes away the compass. Its a huge map with huge forest.

BRING BACK THE COMPASS!

Some people enjoy wayfinding challenges...

"It's stupid to navigate with a map without any clue where you are or where you going!" You could use these things called eyes.

Agreed. I can vouch for using your eyes to navigate, there’s a reason there are shrines and Interesting Sites etc on the map. Use those to get a rough idea of where you are and go from there.

Hardcore is very doable.

You could use some common sense.

It's morning.
You can visually see the sun in one direction.
That's the East.
Figure out the rest from there.

The game is generous enough to give you the time. It must feel pretty bad that thousands of years ago people figured this out and here you are complaining on a computer.

You have no problem remembering where things are in the city you live in.

why do you have trouble remembering where things are in a game. After you played a full playthrough of it.

If your having that much trouble just find an image of the map on the internet and just save it as your desktop wallpaper.

And play in windowed mode.

As far as orientation Use the sun. Sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

So if the sun is on your right and its before 12pm Then the sun is in the direction of east.

Sun on your left. and its after 12pm Then the sun is in the direction of west.

Then you just estimate north and south from which ever direction the sun is.

I have like, NO idea why you’re complaining after picking hardcore lol. Tou should’ve known what you were getting into in the first 5 minutes in skalitz anyway

People may like or dislike some features of hardcore mode and argue that they should be optional/adjustable (I don't think so - I believe it's important for a difficulty mode to be straight and consistent), but calling these features 'stupid' is... stupid

Anyway I'm unaware of any mods that bring GPS navigation back in hardcore

Without GPS it is too hardcore. They should have a game mode called "Not too hardcore, but somewhat hardcore",

It is easy to navigate without compass (you have the markers which indicate 'a direction' and drift or turning), you have the time of day and the position of the sun to accurately find a direction should you care to. You have a landscape and landforms and built environment which is quite suited to finding you way with no aids, but have a map of excellent quality and consistency as well... with markers placed on it as you get near to them the first time....

This is a challenge which is entirely manageable, and not even very involved.
If you are seeking a small hidden cache, train and use your hound to aid you....?

I admit navigation without compass can be very hard in the woods, but it's called "Hardcore" for a reason.

Stick to the main roads, look for terrain features and landmarks, and you'll be fine.

You can really get lost in forests though.
