Just joking i will allways prefer german because its my mother tongue.
Funny considering german overdubs for games have historically been always horrendous, i just say Metal Gear Solid.
The english overdub is not perfect but it's adequate. Considering the developer was small time before they sold out, it's admirably what they got done.
Sorry devs but no german no money from me. Because in an RPG i want to relax and not
allways pay close attention so i don´t miss anything because its in english.
But yes the two that are just completely immersion-breaking are the American priest in Uzhitz and most laughable of all the NPC with the broad Australian accent. What on earth were they thinking!
The gaming world will miss you, truly.
Why bothering??!! It's just the accent, it's still English, if you are going to complain, then complain about the English. Why do they speak English when they are supposed to speak Czech???!! Well if you ask that then I say this: so people can understand!!! The accent is just trying to make this game more "authentic, arty" in a way, it's just like movies depicting different cultures like Greek Mythologies (like seriously, they speak English in American/British accent???), or tons other stuff.
People got to stop "indulging" the stuff to ridiculous level. I've seen bunch of animes with blondies speaking Japanese, and people don't complain that why they speak Japanese, but they complain when there English dubbed, like WTF!!!!???
You're going to compair this to Anime? Seriously!! Anime is a cartoon style that uses almost nothing that can be compaired to anything realistic. There is not one aspect of Anime that is based on realism.
This game is set in a specific period of history and while it may not be perfect, it does a pretty good job of capturing what I imagine the time might have looked like. Sure the game could have been done in Czech but as the majority of players do not speak that then there would be a lot of subtitle reading which would take a lot away from the game.
My whole reason for posting this was because, to my ears, the American accent sticks out in this game as badly as it would if one of the bandits jumped out from behind a tree wearing a Spice Girls T-shirt. If you didn't notice anything wrong hearing the American accent then lucky you. To me, it sounded wrong as soon as the first character with an American accent started talking.
I don't compare Anime to this, I set it an example of saying how absurd people are when coming to realism of games or movies. They are still product of entertainment, they serve for that purpose, it's fine to immerse yourself in it but there is a line.
Like I said, complaining about the accent doesn't make sense when it is still English. Ok so English is not even my native tongue, but I thought Henry sounding pretty British enough, and his friends do too, or maybe I'm wrong. Sure, there are accents here and there, but I'm sure that even people speak Czech, they do have accents when traveling from different region, because every country has that. I don't see the point, really, like it is still English and people in here are supposed to speak Czech, if you can get over with that then why bothering the accent. Though I prefer not to play game in different language, not even for immersion purpose, it's distracting to read subtitles all the time.
If you don't get that then fine. As I say I'm done with this. Reply, don't reply. I don't care. I'm unsubscribing to this conversation and won't see it anyway.
Alan Rickman bossed it as the Sherriff of Nottingham though. Rip.
My point is............. I have no point.
