Let's make one.

-Waldesians

-Money for old rope

-In god's hands

-On the scent (doesn't exactly fail but changes some results)

-Pestilence (same as above, multiple ways to fail or succeed, time only alters)

-Miracles while you wait

-House of god

-Sport for kings

-Is a friend indeed

At your service my lady (sort of, by main quest advancement it can fail)

Does the quest timer start when you pick up the quest or are the quest timers based on the world clock?

lets say I walked up to a NPC and it gave me a timed quest like "my friend is dyeing go find us a doctor". i go explore for a day or 2 come back and failed the quest.

Now if I did not start the quest by talking to that NPC, could i come back in a few days or a week and do the quest.
( quest timer starts when quest starts )

or

The quest will go away because he died with out ever giving the quest. / auto fail
(quest timer is based on world clock)

When you start the quest. The quest "In god's hands" you have to do things to prevent death among the wounded refugees. If you do not gather bandages some will bleed to death. Without food they will starve. The poisoned need a antidote and so on. The quest will be completed if you just leave them be, but the refugees also die. As long as you do not start the quest the quest will not continue.

Thank you, so safest way would be do one quest at a time if possible, and try not to grab every quest you see right away like in most games?

I'm going to bump this as I'm thinking of giving KCD another attempt, but the vagueness(on the game's part) about which quests are timed and which ones aren't was one of the main reasons I quit. Thanks to ysnyder77 for his list though I still wish there was a more extensive guide on this subject.

-Waldesians (timer starts as soon as you talk to the vicar)

-Money for old rope (you have 1 week to finish it)

-In god's hands (timer starts as soon as you speak to the quest giver about this quest)

-On the scent (doesn't exactly fail but changes some results)

-Pestilence (same as above, multiple ways to fail or succeed, time only alters)

-Miracles while you wait (timer starts only after completing the first 3 objectives)

-House of god

-Sport for kings (respect the schedule established by the quest)

-Is a friend indeed (timer starts as soon as you remember about your friends)

-At your service my lady (sort of, by main quest advancement it can fail)

-Next to Godliness (everything must be completed before next day's morning)

-Capon's Champion (you have to attend the next tourney)

-A rock and a hard place (after progressing with the objectives you'll find out the action takes place in 5 days at noon)

I added some additional comments concerning timers for some of the quoted quests, as well as added 1 more quest to this list.

I really hope they got rid of this ♥♥♥♥ in the second game. Not that time limit is an issue, but not telling you in advance IS!

Lets just hope they fix the worst lock picking mechanics in gaming history lol

I also hope they give you a warning about the time sensitive quests in the second game. I often find myself rushing through certain quests or the main storyline to get to a place where I feel like it's safe to relax and explore or just brew potions or something.

Whenever I pick up a quest I usually google whether it's time sensitive or not. I don't like to do it, but if I'm going to fail the quest, I want to fail while actually working on it, not because a timer I didn't know about went off.

Use keyboard and mouse and they become the easiest lockpick mechanics in the world.
I would add that if you are trying to get the ledetchko revenant avhievement, then you should really finish it up as fast as possible in one sitting because it will bug on you. The quest for that is called no rest for the wicked.

Also, there has been a number of reports that say you should do the main quest all that glisters ASAP and not do any side stuff. Also, keep a save before doing all quests and dont overwrite it until complete

I have used controller, kb&M, simple, not simple. It's a terrible mechanic that should never exist. Most people hate it you 2 are in the minority. Every other game on planet earth did lockpicking better than KCD

Telling people to "Get Gud" at a single player RPG is such a small ♥♥♥♥ thing to say
