Can't find Nightingale

During the quest "Keeping the Peace", I went to the place I am supposed to wait, and Nightingale doesn't show up anywhere in the designated area during the stated mission time. My character waited an hour several times, and Nightingale was not in any of the area I searched? I played the mission before in a previous playthrough and found him, but he was not there this time. Does anyone know where he could be, or did the game just glitch into an unwinnable state?

He only show up between a certain time. Pretty sure it's in your log when.

As I said in my original post, I was there during the specified time range, even having my character wait several times, and he was never there.

You might have done something wrong or not understood something. Are you sure you're looking in the right place? Rattay has two churches, and you need to be at the lower one.

You might have a corrupted installation.

You might be experiencing a bug.

To rule out corrupted installation, verify the integrity of your installation. It takes a minute or two but it's easy to do. Go to your game library, right click on KCD, go to the last item on the drop-down menu ('Properties'), go to the local files tab, and poke around in there. Verify integrity is one of your options.

I haven't played the game a lot of times, but I've never had trouble finding Nightingale in either regular or hardcore.

If you haven't frittered away a lot of time after getting the quest (NPC's in KCD are very sensitive about being made to wait), you should find him loitering about inside the churchyard near the main door of the church. [This should be at the west side in front of the narthex, but I've never actually checked to see if the lower church is aligned the same as most other medieval churches].

He's one of the nicest characters in the game. He patrols the entire town, but has also been known to take a break at one of the taverns.

Dont forget to get the "FREE" gear in that Tower behind the Upper Pub/Bar while your at it too.

I managed to find Nightingale this next time around, so it's fine.

What always worked for me was to wait for any time, then wait for any time again.(from 11:00 to 19:00?)
He was never there at first or after the first wait, but always after the second.

I learned this from denhonators speedrunning videos.

I just did it, he circles around the Church.

Had the same problem. Relaunching the game didn't help. I went away to another area, solved some other side quest, then fast traveled back and there he was, circling the church, finally.

Were you looking around the church? He's not in the same place.
