Can't run away on horseback
Hi everyone. I have recently noticed that when I am riding on a horse and a random encounter happen I will automatically be thrown off my horse and forced to fight. Is this a new mechanic that have been patched in to force people to fight bandits?

If this is the case this is extremely bad. What if I have mastered mounted combat and want to be a knight? Now I can't use speed of a horse to my advantage? Why shouldn't I be able to just run away when I am in the clear and on a horse?

This sounds interesting, why would a person get off their horse to handle an encounter when they could use it to their advantage?

That can depend on the horse, some horses are fast but throw you of as soon as they come into an battle etc.

I would recommend warhorse Jenda which can be bought at the stables of merhojed.

Exactly. Cavalry has been a huge part of armies for a very long time. The polish Winged Hussars that existed between the 16th and 18th century was among the most feared cavalry in Europe. Due to them having wings on their armor they got called Angles of Death by their enemies.

That is why it doesn't make sense that I should be forced into melee combat or even be thrown off my horse when I encounter a bunch of peasants with swords. Sure the mounted combat is god awful, but I should not be forced to fight the enemies when I can run.

Never been an issue for me before, but I normally never use Tojan as my first horse as I normally pick Boxer. Also. I played this game for a long time now, I know all about the horses. This is just something I never encountered before which is why I wonder if something changed.

I believe that what you are experiencing is an issue with horse's personality rather than a game glitch. Some of the horses in this game get startled easily when struck and throw you off. I believe this fact is pointed out in the horse's description when you buy it.

Apart from that no such thing as being struck have happened. I run into combat, the enemies react and I am far away already. Then my horse stops and throw me off. I can't even mount the horse and try again as it always throw me off no matter if it is hit or not. Never encountered it before.

I've had that happen a few times, but not recently. Have you checked your horse riding perks to make sure you have leveled up your riding abilities? For example: Warhorse, Strong Thighs, and Jockey?
