Do 'Serrated Edge' and 'Tin Opener' wear off after a time?

I applied them to my sword but next time I checked they were gone from the buffs list. Do they last a certain amount of time? Do they disappear after every fight? Is it bugged? Does the game occasionally unequip your sword for cut-scenes and that removes it?

If it is a matter of time, how long do the buffs last for?

Was kinda expecting it to last forever since almost all the other maintenance perks do.

All three weapon buffs persist even after repairing weapon at the blacksmith's as of 1.8.2.

Sometimes (after loading game?) they disappear, but unequipping and re-equipping the weapon brings all buffs back (a bug, apparently).

Heavily damaged (into red X state) weapon loses 'Blacksmith's Son' buff, but 'Serrated Edge' remains.

Ah, thanks. I must have reloaded and had that issue. I'll know for next time then that I can just unequip and reequip. Oddly I thought it was the opposite, where the weapon had been unequipped for some reason and lost the buff because it was unequipped.
