Tanner Brada - how to talk
Ok, I googled and likely its not just me but I would be glad for any advise - took quest for getting some skins for Tanner Brada. Returned to him now and no matter what I do and whcih daytime I choose I am not able to have talk option with him.

Moreover I noted lot of NPC including him acts strangely - like if I come close to them near their hous they start run around similar way as if they see you enter their house or some forbidden area. They also shout sentences like "who is there?!" (and i stand literalyl next to them on the bright sun..)

The scale of this behavior seems be more than just one buged NPC and I see it even in new places I come for first time...

check the Towns stats on Henry(good bad Mad?) as your "Trepassing" when they say, "Who's there" and don't recognise Henry at all. Could be a TIME OF DAY thing too?

It is a bug. Everytime i went to him the women trader would act as though i was a thief. And would come over saying "who's there" and all of that. I was able to accept the quest, but they treat me like a trespasser everytime i was there; even if it was mid-day. If you were able to take his quest: than just ignore it and try to catch him quickly before they freakout. Otherwise i would just drop the quest. A butcher in Sasau gives a better hunting quest and it won't effect the Completionist achievement (thanks to another Steam user ) if you miss a few quests.

Yeah. I finally managed catch him on way to tavern and appearently since than I can talk with him around his home again.

What bother me a bit that this acting - like you steal something - is not unique and I noted it on various random villagers in the world (dont have any reputation issues or being searched for crime..)

I'm experiencing the same problem. Just cannot talk to the guy.

What do you mean by catching him on the way to tavern? Were you able to talk to him on his way to the tavern?

In case someone still struggles with this in 2019 (i did!). You need to have the skins in your inventory (not in the horse), you will be able to talk to him after that.

Did not work for me. I get no dialog options once I go inside the tanner shop regardless of what I'm carrying. I can talk to his wife and trade before going in, but once I step onto the shop both start treating me suspiciously.

Edit: I can't even talk to him outside the shop when I find him on the way to the pub. I love this game in principle but the whole experience has been bug after bug after bug after bug.

Hehe, as you folks still "necro" my threat (though it is still actual) -I somehow gave up on this game short after this post as it was unbearable for me...

Year passed and I gave it another chance like month ago (said myself the game must be in much better shape... how I was wrong...), fresh instalaltion new game without any mod... Yet, the game is still in same terrible state, I can hardly say if I played more hours of the story or continuous reloading due ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugs over and over.. It is still same, bug after bug or even crash (seems DLC brought some new too) - 99% happen at evening prior sleep so all day must be replayed.. Really annoying.

I gave up for a bit, but probably will push myself to rush the story and put this buged ♥♥♥♥ away.. Only shame I supported this game since beginning and bought all DLC too - if there would be chance for refund I would not hesitate for a second (I somehow love this game but all experience together is unbearable ♥♥♥♥)

Don't punish yourself, man, get mod to enable saves. The game will loose some thrill, but will be much more enjoyable overall.

For what its worth: I kept playing the game and accidentally came across some red deer (big deer, not the roe deer you usually come across) killed a couple and got a skin. So having a "Red Deer Hide" in my inventory did allow me to talk to the tanner and finish the quest. The wife is still bugged, I can talk and trade with her at her stall, but the instant I step onto the shop she starts treating me like a suspicious person and following me around.

After completing the quest you can talk to the tanner to start the next quest. He'll start treating you suspiciously again after that. I guess until you have the next correct skin in your inventory.

TL;DR: You need "Red Deer Hide" not the regular deer doe skin in your inventory.

This was it for me. Can't do Roe Deer, need Red Dear hide.
