Since when did Henry become a Knight?
I didn't remember when did Henry get knighted but everywhere I go people address me as a knight. Is it because I ride a horse or I was in a kingt's armor? I've only finished the main quest in which I saved Hans ' life and got rewarded a horse. That makes me a knight?

Feel a litte underwhelming since I never got a ceremony.

Basically yes. You are a person in service of a nobleman. You have a horse, armour and a sword. It doesn't makes you a knight, but this things fits a knight in the social imaginary, so they address you as one.

In reality it's like Ulrich of Passau said: but there are many ways to acquire such things these days. As I am sure you know.

They'll only address you as "knight" if you look like one. Rock up at the local tavern in you underwear and no one will give you a second glance, or turn up in blood soaked and torn equipment and again they won't address you as knight.

Under Defence there is a perk called "Knight in Shining Armor" which among other things says "you'll be taken for a noble knight and get a Charisma bonus."

True, but I think it's what the others said. I haven't taken that perk, but the instant I bought some nice shiny chaucers (leg armor) and a decent longsword, the Rattay huntsman started calling me "Sir Knight".

If your charisma is high ish and youre wearing plate many characters will respond to you like that. That leg armor you mentioned buying does count as plate.

I started getting called knight as soon as I started turning up places in plate armour. I'm not actually a knight (at least not yet), but I look the part, and I guess people just assume.

When I am not wearing my full armour, people address me differently. For example, if I am all dressed up in noble clothes I still get the whole "I am honoured that you are even speaking to me" spiel; I guess because people assume I am a noble.

I do love how your equipment's quality and condition affect how NPCs deal with you. More games (RPGs in particular) need this sort of thing.

It always drove me crazy in games like Skyrim and Fallout that there was no mechanic like this, and some NPCs would always treat you like Joe McPeasant no matter what.

I believe you became a "knight" when you became a squire and servant to Radzig Kobyla. When you walk around in full armor and weapons while working for the nobles most people will just call you a knight.

This bothers me enough that i just instinctively change out of armor anytime I talk to anyone.
I really only hate it when its someone who knows you

"hello sir knight"
"whats up fritz"

or of course there is the "Hello Henry!" "Oh good! Henry's come to see us!" When you arrive in a new town.
