Robbing the Rattay Guard tower
The guard tower where the most loot is kept that can be worth almost if not over 100,000 Groschen. When should I steal from it after I reach level 15 in lockpicking for more value or is it just different for everyone?

Are the prices different in Hardcore mode? the whole of Rattay doesn't even have 100,000G worth of loot to swipe.

I'm assuming he's talking about the Ratthaus, which has the Rattay Armorer connected to it. If you sell to him a bunch he'll accumulate a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of money, which you can steal if you can get past a Very Hard lock. My personal record is stealing 120k from him

Entirely up to you man. Do you think you would ever need more than 100k gold? That's a pretty obscene amount already, but you could just keep selling to the armorer to get him fattened up for robbing him later

To the OP, if Krono is correct and you are talking about the Armorer's and Swordsmith's storage lockers (2nd floor in the Ratthaus, for example), then those chests are filled with the same gear from the beginning of the game - they do not change with Henry's level (as seems consistent even with other loot - it doesn't seem to "level" as the game progresses).

As far as "fattening up" the Traders - (for education purposes) - all traders resell what they buy from you - and they sell it at (or near) normal price - thus their "available gold" increases. as they resell the stuff they buy from you. The swordsmiths and armorers seem to only resell what you sell them every few days, while Tailors (for example) resell overnight (they fatten up quickly).

Since stolen Gold is never marked as Stolen - it is often better to sell your junk to one particular trader, then steal his Excess Gold after he resells (if you steal all his gold, he may no longer be able to buy from you for a while until his base gold is reset).

Of course, this only works provided you have a way to get loads of junk gear to sell and "fatten up" the Traders.

As far as stealing stuff in Rattay, top tier stolen gear takes forever to be marked as unstolen - so then, your Miller friends are the only option for stolen gear sales.

And remember, the Guards in Rattay are Very Good at smelling out a Thief.

I do mean the Rattay Guard tower that supposedly has 200,000+ Groschen. So if you look at the map of Rattay from entrance to entrance, this tower is 2 on the bottom line of the castle wall from the right. Its behind the cobbler.

You mean this one?

I hadn't heard of a guard tower having that much money, so I loaded up a high level thief character to check. There's a few chests there with a bunch of Guard weapons and armor and stuff, but that's definitely nowhere near 200 000 groschen worth
