Are You sure this is just not a marker for blood on weapon?
It's a strange bug. I wonder what would happen if a guard searches you with an incorrectly marked "stolen" item.
Most likely the guard would just react the same way if he caught you with any other stolen item.
While nothing in your stash has the stolen icon, note that items which are recognised as stolen are still 'stolen' and will have 'steal' rather than 'take' on them until this status clears.
A common culprit for a stolen tag is accessing something which changes your inventory while you have items equipped. I find this is reasonably common with the Pribyslavitz arena for example, where a seemingly random selection of weapons were marked as stolen after each access - if this affects your highest grade weapon, you can grab some disposable one and retry - it may swap the stolen tag.
Storing the best item onto the horsey may prevent this being a large (expensive) problem, but I didn't test extensively, just shrugged and moved on.
For example when I took some food and booze from Lubosh's house after he was murdered, which obviously was stealing but somehow didn't count as - and I tried to sell some at the local inn they recognized it as stolen.
At first I thought it's supposed to be like that lol, like Henry just forgot or didn't know he stole it.
Btw, storing stolen loot onto the horse won't fool the guards since one of the latest patches, they check horse inventory too if they catch you
What's your problem? Women can't play KCD? Grow up.
and probably a helluva lot better at gaming than you LOL
I suspect the game gave me replacement wooden gear for training, and then when I got my stuff back it was "stolen" because it appeared back in my inventory and the game didn't understand why.
In previous versions of the game when this bug showed up, the newly stolen stuff can be "permanently stolen" and must be sold and repurchased to remove the tag.
I think that happens when the game takes your items away and store them somewhere, but when given back it gets flagged as stolen for some reason as the game think you stole your own stuff.
