Yes, they downgraded graphics since a lot of people ripped their clothes appart saying that the game wasn't optimized. Actually a lot of people tried to run the game at Ultra with mid-range PC's.

They don't understand that Utlra settings was designed for next-gen hardware (Devs even wrote a warning message when choosing Ultra settings).

It's getting frustrating...

Last time I remember there was an obvious downgrade was Assassins Creed Unity. The game was stunning at release and then they patched it because some kids cried that it was not optimized. Now it's ugly as hell with a lot of low detail LOD and texture popin.

So why not just a mode above ultra called experimental.

They clearly warn that Ultra IS experimental and for next-gen. It cannot be more clearer than that. There is a warning message!!!!

What you want more? That someone come at your house to tell you that it's hardware hungry on ultra?!

It's not like its the first game to try to push graphics to a higher degree, i didn't get mad when I couldn't use ultra i said exactly "awe damn, that's sucks but kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool"
Now performance did need a fix because i was using judt high settings and i got seemingly low performance. Could use another tweak but its so minor mods can do it

In fact, it's pretty smart to make a game with future config in mind. The game can have a longer lifespan. If you like the game, you can still play 5 years after release with better graphics. Win-win situation.

But people don't get this. This and how to properly configure their graphics settings. Mindlessly choosing ultra on their potato PC and then complaining that the game is unoptimized...

What's your point?
If only lowering my graphical settings did anything for my fps

I can play Ultra or Medium, performance changing is very minimal.

On this web you can find many mods for graphic "upgrade", but for "downgrade" too, so be carefull to not make ur game worse than before..! Im using around 5 - 7 mods for KCD, 3 of them for graphic, and I can say the game looks rly much better... And still its better than to use HD texture pack - which made my fps totally unstable...

So take a look and mod ur game for better graphic etc etc... Its not that hard...
