The Theresa story is not long, but it's not short either. There's another Woman's Lot story that Henry will encounter later on, but it's woven into the main game plot.
The Theresa story is worth playing if for no other reason that many of the characters and events from the vanilla version will make more sense if you've played it. You'll develop some geographical insights that will come in handy later on: Henry the character already has these because he's from Skalitz, but you as player don't because you haven't explored the neighborhood (unless you play Woman's Lot). You (the player) might also develop the knack for shooting birds' nests out of trees if you don't already have it.
If you play through the Theresa story, you will have a very clear idea of who the former inhabitants of Skalitz actually are, both the ones that end up in Rattay and the ones that end up in the other towns and villages. The main plot of the Henry story will make a lot more sense, because the Theresa story will clue you in on different minor characters' relationships with Henry and with each other. Skalitz is a village, and everybody knows everybody else's business.
